WORKBOOK SELECTION / VENDOR RISK
Practice the scope change that makes yesterday’s evidence incomplete.
Use this path when you can name supplier documents but need practice connecting them to the proposed service, identifying a gap and explaining a conditional recommendation.

For candidates who want written evidence and decision practice. Start with the free vendor case if you are still learning service scoping. This workbook is not a full third-party-risk operating manual, certification course or review of a real supplier.
Chapter 6 examines a vendor report that does not cover the proposed service, including procurement pushback and a follow-up limitation. Chapter 8 develops a conversation about a deadline and decision ownership. The vendor-decision-note.md companion supports the written response.
The real eight-page excerpt contains the contents and opening access-review case. The vendor-report chapter is outside that excerpt. The scenario below is a separate original example for choosing this practice path.
Try the free two-use supplier caseORIGINAL FICTIONAL EXERCISE
Try the decision first.
Fictional Linden Works approved a synthetic-data demonstration of a translation service. The sponsor now wants to connect its client-file repository. The supplied vendor statement describes the demonstration environment; no record establishes the proposed connector’s permissions, data scope or approval.
What must change in your assessment before the original demonstration decision can support the new use?
Teaching material, not a verified employer question or prescribed assessment procedure.
Your practice output
A scope-change note containing the earlier decision, proposed change, affected assumptions, targeted evidence requests and the authorized decision owner.
Read the worked reasoning
Treat repository access as a changed proposal. Establish which files and actions the connector can access, who can authorize that access, and which evidence covers the production service. The demonstration decision supports only its documented scope. Do not infer approval of a new connection or claim that the supplier is unsafe solely because this evidence is missing.
Change the evidence
The sponsor offers a temporary connection limited to one folder. Request evidence of that limit and clarify the contents and permitted actions. A narrower proposal may change the assessment, but the verbal description alone does not establish the boundary or authorize deployment.
A practical way to decide.
A free example may meet your immediate need. Choose the full workbook when its additional cases and repeatable written practice address a specific gap.
- Attempt the free changed-service scenario and list the assumptions that no longer hold.
- Inspect the genuine book sample to judge the answer style, then read the full chapter list.
- If the longer workbook fits, use its vendor decision-note and response-record companions to keep your initial and revised recommendations.
