Supplier-dependency portfolio practice: choose your next resource

Decide whether a free shared-dependency map or the existing Portfolio Kit's connected supplier evidence work addresses your learning gap.

On this page

Start with free supplier-dependency practice when a vendor list tells you who is contracted but not which business functions depend on common underlying services. Consider broader portfolio materials when you can draw the links but struggle to connect source records, uncertainty, options and a revised decision.

The existing Risk & Evidence Portfolio Kit contains fictional supplier-decision and recovery-readiness work. It is not a live supplier-discovery platform, a complete subcontractor register or a professional assessment of a real vendor. The new free shared-dependency case is separate from its paid inventory.

Attempt the map before choosing a product

Complete the three-service dependency exercise. It names one common authentication provider in two disclosures and leaves a third service's dependencies unknown. Your output should distinguish a disclosed relationship from an inferred one and identify the evidence that would change a link.

If the difficult part is understanding the purpose of supply-chain risk management, start with the free NIST CSF2.0 source. A book is not necessary to read that guidance. If the missing information concerns an actual supplier, a fictional packet cannot fill the gap.

Inspect what the existing kit actually provides

Open the public Portfolio Kit preview and current product inventory. Its opening supplier project and evidence-register work let you inspect how records are organized. Compare the complete inventory with the work you intend to produce; do not assume it includes this exact map, automated discovery, a dedicated concentration-risk chapter or personalized practitioner review.

The kit may be useful for practicing an evidence trail and revising a conclusion as the packet changes. It cannot establish the completeness of a real supplier's disclosures or approve a procurement decision. Current availability belongs on the product page.

A useful free finish

Keep one clearly fictional diagram and a short explanation of its strongest supported statement. Name one important unknown and the next evidence request that could resolve it. If you can already do that and only need more technical information, use the relevant primary documentation rather than buying a broader writing exercise.

Continue with the vendor-risk interview case for scoping a proposed service, or the decision-memo example for presenting a bounded next decision.
