PROJECT SELECTION / AUDIT WORKPAPER
Make your work possible to reconstruct.
Choose this path when you need practice documenting the question, criterion, performed procedure and result. The Portfolio Kit gives you a supplied packet to examine and reference work to compare with your own attempt.

For candidates who want to practice written assessment documentation using fictional records. This is not a firm's audit methodology, an assurance engagement or a live system-testing lab. Use the free exercise first if you only need a small example of the structure.
Chapter 5 develops repeatable procedures and completed account-review work, including population limits and proposed follow-up. Chapter 7 develops a finding. The companions include an assessment worksheet and completed account-review example within the larger connected project.
The actual eight-page sample contains the opening project and evidence-register lessons. The procedure and finding chapters are outside the excerpt. The exercise below is separate page-specific teaching material.
Explain a procedure and its bounded resultORIGINAL FICTIONAL EXERCISE
Try the decision first.
Fictional Cedar Print requires its change owner to record approval before each scheduled release. You receive three supplied records: CP-01 has approval 09:10 and release 09:30; CP-02 has approval 14:05 and release 14:00; CP-03 has a release at 16:20 and no approval timestamp. All times are on the same day and in the same time zone for each record. The packet does not establish that these are all releases in the period.
Write the performed procedure and result without claiming you tested the whole release process.
Teaching material, not a verified employer question or prescribed assessment procedure.
Your practice output
A short workpaper stating the criterion, three record references, comparison performed, per-record result, coverage limit and follow-up. It must distinguish the initial finding from later evidence.
Read the worked reasoning
Compared the approval and release timestamps in the three supplied records against the stated sequence requirement. CP-01 supports prior approval; CP-02 records approval five minutes after release; CP-03 does not establish approval timing. This is a document comparison of three records. No live release, independent log extraction or complete-period population reconciliation was performed. Request the missing timestamp and clarify population completeness before extending the conclusion.
Change the evidence
A separate record establishes approval for CP-03 at 16:00. Link it, revise that record's result and retain CP-02's supported sequence issue. The additional timestamp does not resolve the whole-period coverage limitation. Record the revision rather than silently overwriting the initial result.
A practical way to decide.
A free example may meet your immediate need. Choose the full kit when its connected records and revision exercises address a specific gap.
- Write your procedure and per-record result before opening the reasoning.
- Read the free control-test explanation and the genuine kit sample to judge the instructional style.
- Choose the kit if its connected packet, worksheet and reference answer support the longer project you want to build.
